Todd is originally from Gloucester, MA, and has worked at Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary since 2008. Todd has lived in the Florida Keys since 1997, with a few seasons spent in the Virgin Islands.

Prior to joining the sanctuary, Todd was employed for several years with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at Keys Marine Lab as a biologist, research assistant, and research vessel captain. Todd is also the former waterfront director of Newfound Harbor Marine Institute at Seacamp.

Todd has also worked as a park ranger, sail charter captain, and fish biologist in Washington State. Credentials include a U.S. Coast Guard 100 Ton Masters License, PADI divemaster, Florida Department of Environmental Protection scientific diver, and American Red Cross Instructor.

Todd graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington.
