In order to implement sustainable development, coastal community stakeholders must reconcile their expectations and focus on common environmental, social and economic objectives. This is a difficult task for individuals and groups who normally do not work together and often hold opposing views and competing interests. The Atlantic Coastal Action Program (ACAP) offers a transparent and credible process for stakeholders to reconcile expectations while effectively addressing complex issues and navigating the web of coastal jurisdictions.
