Blue Angler Program

Blue Star Program

The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council is working with charter fishing operators to develop a voluntary education and recognition program. This Blue Angler program may be modeled after the sanctuary’s Blue Star program that recognizes dive and snorkel operators who employ best practices for sustainable use of sanctuary resources.

The Sanctuary Advisory Council Working Group for Recreational-Charter Fishing is hosting a series of regional public interest meetings to facilitate information exchange and solicit input from the charter fishing community on best practices to include and incentives to participate. Florida Keys charter captains are invited to participate and provide input at these meetings.
