Airielle assists with research concerning the spread and severity of stony coral tissue loss disease throughout the Florida Keys and provides support for various other scientific dive operations. Prior to joining the sanctuary in 2019, she was a volunteer NOAA diver and intern, predominantly working with the sanctuary’s Maritime Heritage Program and Damage Assessment, Remediation, and Restoration Program. She also assisted with coral research and restoration, remote sensing surveys, and mooring buoy installations.

She is completing her master's degree at the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science where her research focuses on hurricane impact modeling for historic shipwrecks and artificial reefs within the Lower Keys. She is also an avid technical diver and working toward her USCG captain's license.
