Andie Cuiffo ENS

NOAA Corps Officer

ENS Andie Cuiffo graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography. Throughout her schooling, she had a strong focus in scientific diving, eventually leading her to become an AAUS Advanced Scientific Diver, as well as a technical diver. Prior to her time in NOAA Corps, Andie worked as an ocean lifeguard and as an advanced emergency medical technician (EMT), and continues to hold those certifications.

Andie received her commission in the NOAA Corps in 2018 and comes to Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary after serving on the NOAA Ship Oregon II. Aboard the fisheries research vessel, she qualified as an Officer of the Deck, served as an Environmental Compliance Officer, and certified as a NOAA Working Diver. For exceptional heroism and quick action following a serious vehicle accident, Andie received a 2020 Department of Commerce Gold Medal.

Andie’s lifelong love for the ocean led her to the NOAA Corps where she could combine her interests of science and service.
