Nicole has over five years of experience in informal learning environments, as both an educator and researcher. Prior to joining the FKNMS team, she held positions at the Walt Disney World Resort as an Aquatic Research and a Marine Biology intern. She then continued to graduate school where she taught multiple science and science communication courses. She also spent over a year as a Program Specialist with the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, where she provided support to docent, visitor, and educational programs.

Nicole received her M.S. degree in Biological Sciences at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA, where she studied the interaction between plastic pollutants and invertebrate development. Nicole’s passion lies at the connection between research and education and she is excited to begin a new chapter of her career in the Florida Keys!
