Little Crane Key is a very small island between the Content Keys and Raccoon Key, approximately 25 miles northwest of Marathon. One side of the island has been eroded by storms. The island contains a large magnificent frigatebird (Fregata magnificens) roost and nesting areas for great egrets (Ardea alba) and double-crested cormorants (Phalacrocorax auritus).

A 300-foot no-access buffer zone surrounds the island.
