John joined the sanctuary in August 2018 overseeing the operation of facilities in Key West. He previously held supervisory, mechanical and engineering positions with Immaculata University and companies including QVC and Westinghouse Electric in his native Pennsylvania. In the U.S. Navy, John served as a boiler technician second class on the USS New Jersey and the USS Kitty Hawk. In addition to specialized technical training in the U.S. Navy, John studied at Delaware County Community College.
