Snake Creek Wildlife Management Area
Snake Creek, on the south side of U.S. Highway 1, is an area of very shallow flats bordering the Snake Creek Channel. The Snake Creek Wildlife Management Area protects shallow water habitat used by a variety of birds, bonefish (Albula spp.), permit (Trachinotus falcatus), tarpon (Megalops atlanticus), and other fish species. The shallow seagrass flats have been impacted by vessel groundings and exhibit light to severe prop scarring.
There is a no-motor zone on the tidal flat.
